Missions

In Acts 1:8 Jesus said to his disciples “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. “ Our thought when it comes to missions is that we should be involved in doing missions in every one of these areas at the same time. We consider Morgantown, Elverson, Honey Brook and the close surrounding areas to be our Jerusalem. Pennsylvania is our Judea. The United States of America is our Samaria. And everywhere else is the ends of the earth. Each Flag represents a place we are or have had an impact on missions. Our hope is to run out of room for flags.

During the Summer of 2004 Pastor Bill Wright led the youth ministry on their first ever missions trip to War, West Virginia. While there the team helped to scrap and repaint the ouside of a woman's house who was paralized from the waist down. The team also helped to run a VBS for local chidren.
In the Summer of 2010 MCC had its first Church Wide Missions trip. We took at group to Mexico and built 2 house and did childrens ministry.
Orlando Florida YWAM base had been a great partner with MCC in world missions. Our youth spent a week training in their base and doing ministry before leaving for Brazil, Lauren Gentile and Donny Milton did their DTS (Discipleship Training School) there and also weekly street ministry, before spending time in India, and we are happy to announce Gage and Lauren Gentile will be soon joining staff in Orlando to train other young missionaries.
During the summer of 2007 MCC sent the youth ministry on a 3 week missions trip. In Brazil they ran school programs, did street evangelism and more.
After hurricanes Katrina and Rita had hit the gulf coast our youth along with Pastor Bill Wright went to Lake Charles, Louisiana to help with relief work. The teams' main project was gutting and rebuilding teh insides of two apartments in a low income housing community. (2006)
Soon after high school graduation both Donny Milton and Lauren Gentile (Gossler at the time) spent 3 months doing mission work in India with YWAM. (Jan-Mar 2009)

2010 Mazatlan Mexico Missions Trip

During this past summer a group of 19 people from Morgantown Community Church headed down to Mazatlan Mexico to build 2 houses. God blessed each person during this trip and helped give a great perspective on how well we have it in America. One of the greatest blessing of this trip was seeing the smiles on Gasper and Maria’s Faces when they received keys to the new homes for their families.

We took a group from our youth ministry to Charlotte NC at the end of July 2011 to team up with YWAM for a week. They did intercity ministry and worked with several local children's minsitries
MCC Proudly supports Karen Keeport who spent a large amount of time doing missions work translating the bible in Benin.

Ten Thousand Homes

Mission Statement: Ten Thousand Homes creates “HOME” for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa by building multi-care centers, building homes, and providing a sense of belonging for orphans and vulnerable children. Ten Thousand Homes brings “HOPE” by providing quality training, education, and economic opportunities.
The Movement: Ten Thousand Homes is a movement of ordinary people actively bringing HOPE and HOMES to Africa's orphans and vulnerable children. Our vision is to create a movement that protects, restores, and empowers Africa's future generations.
Current location: White River, South Africa.
How we plan to help as Morgantown Community church: Ten Thousand Homes has a project called buy a brick where you could buy a brick for 3 dollars that goes towards building a home for the children. It takes 1000 bricks to build one home and 1000 dollars more for labor to build the home. We believe as a church we could raise the 3000 it takes to buy the bricks to build the home. To donate to this project place donations in the collection container new our missions board.
